Beginning NOW local bands looking to get their big break can submit a YouTube video of their performance at www.theriverboston.com and be selected by The River's very own DJs to perform at the 2013 New England Home Show Saturday, February 23 from 1pm to 3pm. The winner will have the opportunity to open at the 12th annual Riverfront Music Festival in Newburyport, MA. The winner will also perform live at The River Music Hall and have their song played on the 92.5 The River. Irene Collins, host of the River's Home Grown Showcase will emcee the competition and will judge the winning band alongside other Boston music industry experts. The River's Home Grown Music Showcase has helped launch the careers of numerous local bands-this is one event you don't want to miss!

Just announced! Taranta restaurant owner and head chef Jose Duarte will join the prestigious line-up at the New England Home Show's Chef Fest 2012. The Peruvian native opened Taranta in Boston's historic North End in 2000 and was named 2011 Chef of the Year in Massachusetts.
