How to Dress Classy Without Breaking the Bank

Woman in classy outift

While many people enjoy investing in designer brands such as Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent, or Burberry, for many people these are not affordable options. The good news is that regardless of your budget, you can still dress and accessorize yourself in a classy way without having to break the bank. There are many different ways that you can look high-end without having to consider any items that have high-end prices.

Whether you are looking to improve your wardrobe and accessories overall, looking for outfits for a vacation or for a special or work-related event, we have pulled together some ways in which you can look upscale and classy while staying on a low budget.

Check out some ways to affordably dress classy

Dress classy on a budgetWear tailored pieces of clothing.

First and foremost, it is important to make sure that the clothing you are wearing fits you well. For example, if you are planning on attending a more formal or professional event, you want to ensure that the blazer, pants, or dress that you decide to wear is either tailored or fits you properly. While getting items tailored can be pricey, it is a great investment especially if you are purchasing neutral pieces that you will have for a long period of time and that you can easily mix and match between outfits. Investing in a tailored piece such as a blazer is a great investment for fancier and more casual outfits. If you are not sure of your size, many stores and boutiques will gladly give you your measurements, so you know exactly what size to buy in which brands.

Incorporate a long coat.

If the weather permits, a long coat is one of the most perfect and easiest ways to really dress up an outfit. A long coat, that at least hits your knee, is extremely chic and a great way to get an awesome first impression, especially if you are out and about. There are many camel coats in different styles and thicknesses that are available at a variety of different stores depending on your budget, as well as other neutral colors such as gray, white, or black. Neutral pieces are always the way to go, and regardless of how much you spend on your coat, it will elevate your outfit immensely and make you look more elegant!

Wear pointed shoes.

Whether you are into high heels, flats, mules, or sandals, pointed shoes can totally change the game in terms of making your look more high-end. A pointed shoe is totally aesthetically pleasing and gives off the vibe that you truly mean business – we love the boss energy! There are so many different styles of pointed shoes that you can choose from depending on your comfort level and what goes best with your outfit. If you are not into pointed shoes, from a general standpoint, ensure that your shoes match your outfit and that they are well-made in the sense that they will not hurt your feet if you wear them for a long period of time.

Add tasteful jewelry and accessories.

A great outfit is always complemented with great accessories! First, when it comes to jewelry, try to avoid the plastic costume jewelry, and focus on the basics. Incorporate your favorite classic pieces such as simple hoop or stud earrings and your favorite watch. A pro-tip for jewelry is to opt for gold or rose gold pieces, which will instantly elevate your look. When it comes to other accessories, a structured bag that is simple in its color and design is a great way to look chicer, and, of course, a great, trendy pair of sunglasses always ties everything together if you will be outdoors during the daytime!
