While we have several other features and promotions planned, here are just a few items we are moving forward with:
Woodworking Area Expansion: We are expanding the woodworking area, with local woodworking expert Thomas MacDonald. Tommy, as he is known, just signed on with WGBH to star in a modern woodworking TV show called “Rough Cut-with Tommy Mac!” Tommy already has a following, and this area promises to be bigger and better in 2011. Our partnership with Tommy will allow us to reach a wider audience in the Boston area. If you didn't visit the woodworking area this past year, I can tell you it was a big hit, as it drew interest from all ages.
The Craft & Specialty Food Pavilion is back: this area provided exactly the type of uniqueness, and excitement we thought it would when we first started planning it prior to 2010. Local artisans from around New England anchor the area, with all kinds of handmade products that are only available at select shows. The Craft Pavilion adds value for our attendees, and we believe it keeps buyers at the Show longer!
Chef Fest returning: with high energy local chefs from some of Boston's most popular restaurants, attendees raved about the recipes, gift certificates, coupons, and large portions of free food samples they received during the cooking demonstration. Again, this is added value for our attendees, and people come looking for anything that is home related. Food is a big part of any home, and with the popularity of cooking shows on TV, Chef Fest is a no brainer when it comes to drawing crowds.
